The Cupping Room For over thirty years, D. Clark MacPherson has appreciated the female form through his photography. Fascinated by the beauty that lies beneath artificiality portrayed in glamour nudes and highly stylized Victorian art poses, he has primarily utilized black and white film to photograph women in commonplace settings. His models are not professional models but are average women who are actively exploring their sensuality.

"This body of work was developed over a span of more then thirty years and evolved through working exclusively in black & white photography with inexperienced models. Some of the poses appear modest and others more seductive. But all are the work of the model in response to being free to express herself."
